Rode bike for 25 minutes on the cross-country setting. Worked me fairly hard it felt like and went from 8 to 18 resistance during a couple “hills”. Ended up going about 5.2 miles and kept the RPMs at 70 or higher.

Stationary Bike (Cross-Country) - 1.18.08

After biking went on the rowing machine for about 11 minutes and then did some cool down. Resistance set to 9, tried to stay at least at 30s/min and ended up rowing about 2020m (1.25mi). Worked my upper body a lot more than my biking/running cardio has been lately. Also nice to use an alternate machine for a change of routine. Looking forward to tomorrow. Last day of week 2 for the running plan. Progress is always nice.

Hour session with personal trainer (last one for free) to show me how to use upper-body resistance machines and also went over elliptical and rowing machine. Good variety for cardio now too.

Ran afterwards for 34 minutes (tv machines don’t shut down at 30 i guess) and went 2.14 miles with incline set to 1. One more session and I’m done with week two off the running plan. Yay.

Not sure about the weight today. Did eat chip beef gravy last night but didn’t think I had that much. Guess the fatty stuff makes me gain a bit of water or something overnight. Ah, gravy. My nemesis.

Lower body resistance for about 20 minutes. Went much faster than I thought. Had to bump up the weight on the leg presses to 160 and that was still pretty easy. Might make it higher next time. I was able to do 2 sets of 12 without feeling much at all. Also did 2 sets of 12 of leg curls, calf-lifts, and something else that I can’t remember the name of (there’s a reason I talked to a trainer before starting anything).

After the resistance stuff I rode stationary for 26 minutes at a resistance of 6-7. Started off with the cross-country setting but it kicked my ass when it got up to 14 and I just couldn’t maintain speed. Tried to stand up but that machine just wasn’t going to work for that. Ended up saying it was about 6 miles. I kept the RPMs at 70 or higher for most of the ride so I thought it went well.

I used my nifty new forerunner to record the biking so I’ll try to get that information off tonight when i get home to see what it has to say. :)

Interval running (C25K - Week 2) - 30 minutes, 1.91 miles. Rode bike after for 25 minutes for about 4 miles. Still trying to figure out the biking levels and stuff. Right now I’m trying to get about 70rpm and keep the HR at around 150ish; adjust resistance accordingly. I’m keeping it around 6 or 7 right now. Seems easy enough though.

No exercise today. Supposed to have one day a week that I don’t do anything so that’s today. Probably okay since my butt hurts from the stationary bike anyway. :)

Weight today is a bit more like I expected. Yesterday I took it after I had eaten and drank a lot of water after working out. Usually I do it right after I wake up and before anything else is done.
