Interval running outside today. I was going to run the two 10 minute intervals again but the hills were really hurting and I could only finish the first 8 minutes running. Then I walked for a bit and tried to run again but hit another hill and a gradual incline and started walking when my heart rate went to about 190. I was gasping and had a hard time breathing well enough to keep walking. I think I need to look at a more level area to run before I start going down random trails in the area.
After the attempts at running I went down a trail that I thought would lead back to the apartment but it curved to a different area and my 35 minute typical workout turned into a 63 minute event that carried me 3.78 miles. Good distance and I feel ok, just a lot more tired than normal. The map shows how close I was to the apartment but didn’t realize then. Oops. Good to know for the next time.

Overslept this morning so no time for gym. Going out with a group of people tonight so no time today now.
Due to requests… here’s some graphy goodness:

Interval running (C25K - Week 6, day 2) with two 10minute runs and a 3 minute walk between them. Heart rate got higher than I’d like but it was a longer run than I’ve done before so it wasn’t unexpected. Took slightly less than 35 minutes and went 2.28 miles. I’m right on target for my Idleman running/walking goal.

Running a fever and achy - running isn’t looking too good right now.

Didn’t think about it yesterday but I gave blood and I shouldn’t do strenuous activity for 24 hours. Resistance training will have to be skipped this time. Not a bad thing though since it also gives me time to stop and do my primary voting thing before work and actually make some breakfast before I leave.

Interval running (C25K - Week 5, day 2) for 35 minutes and 2.21 miles. Did my second round of double 8 minute runs and it’s still somewhat difficult but not unreasonable. I’m going to try to move to week 6 and work on the distance part instead of just the time parts now. That should be two 10 minute runs or 1 mile each.
I think it will take more than 10 minutes but not horribly much longer. Plus, it’s a goal to be able to work on as well. I know I can run for 8 minutes and if I really can’t breath or something, then I’ll get back to walking but I have hope that I can run 2 miles with a short walk in the middle of them.

No workout today, travel to Lynchburg to help move some stuff for a friend. I recall now a problem I had in gym when I was younger (mostly because it’s come back). Athlete’s foot can suck my… well, something or other. At least Tinactin is covered with my FSA plan so it’s not out of my taxed income. My feet are driving me crazy though. Bought more wicking socks yesterday and will be trying to change socks more often or something after working out to try to keep this from being a chronic problem.

Intro to Hatha Yoga for 1:15 today. It went so much better than the other one (only did downward facing dog 2x and my wrists rejoiced) so I think I will return to do that again. The instructor (Karen E H) was extremely nice and I felt much calmer after this one. I will see how the regular Hatha Yoga classes go though this next week. It still may be something that I stick with the intro classes for a while if the other ones are a bit too much right away… I’m not really sure though.
After the yoga I explored the downtown ACAC more (it’s so incredibly nice that it almost felt like a vacation) and rode bike for 30 minutes. Not sure why but I was sweating more this time than any time I’ve ran or cycled since January. It was worse than hiking even (yes, Nicki, worse!). I really had to wipe the machine down and I’ve been ridiculously thirsty since. Something strange for the day I guess.

Interval running (C25K - Week 5, day 2) for 32 minutes and 2.08 miles. Increased the incline a bit to 2.0 to try to get the run a little harder and get me more used to the non-flat nature of the outside running. The 8 minute runs were tough but not overly so.
